Here's some advice my therapist gave me, because I had friends I met up with on discord every week from 2020-2024 that I felt that way about.

The absence of positive feedback can be interpreted by anxiety as negative feedback. If someone has an issue with you, it is their responsibility to say so.

I used to work with good ol' boys in a supply shop for electricians. They used slurs constantly, racist, sexist, homophobic, etc.

They dropped it the moment someone who would take offense walked in the door.
