We had a good #boardgamenight this last week! We played Avatar: The Last Airbender board game, Star Realms, and what’s become a weekly favorite, Thunder Road! We often end up getting looks with people shouting as the dice are rolled and the cars blow up. #boardgames
I would be remiss for not mentioning this to those in #vrchat. As someone who put a lot of time into helping create the story behind this show, I am thrilled to see it coming to life!

As the story goes, I believe the adage was "what's good for my goats is good for me."

Though how we go from there to the roasting/grinding/water part is still baffling to me.
For me, coffee blows my mind. Somebody was like "yeah this fruit is fine but what if we take the pits, roast them, grind them into a powder, and then pour hot water through them?"

Crazy genius that the world should give thanks for.
It's olives that get me. I want to salute the guy who took an inedibly bitter fruit and thought "I know, if I bury these and leave them soaking in caustic soda for six months, they'll be delicious". I mean what kind of a leap is that?!
On World Bread Day I'm celebrating this tweet cos every time I make toast i think "cook it again"
I guess it's time to do a race.
Unless you count the major culling as "of benefit to my library."
Thrift stores in the US are so hit and miss (mostly miss for me). Good luck!

I find it ironic that my local one will have a nice haul but it's bc of me, not in benefit to my library 😅
Sadly the complete opposite. I'm in NY, the Hudson Valley area north of the city.

If you're not on our discord, I invite you to join us. Often we'll post things there, which included when I was selling these for cheap (would ship if the buyer was OK paying shipping). For the future.
Sold what I could. The rest are being given away because they can't stay with me anymore.

Sad to see some of them go, but realistically it was time. Hadn't played them for years and likely still wouldn't. I hope they all find good homes.
Well, some local people are about to be very happy about board game finds at the local charity shop.
Also, I absolutely love the art on this new deck.
I don't talk much about my personal life here. I'm debating maybe just slightly changing that? Dunno. We'll see if it lasts.

Anyway, here's a fun fact about me: I read tarot. Ironically I learned on a thoth deck so 99% of decks confound me (being based on RWS). I am finally learning them.

A party horror game? What could go wrong?

Our review of This Game Is Killer: Alien on Board by @smirkanddagger.bsky.social, a clever small board game that recreates a classic horror movie as you betray your friends to survive.

Don't recall if I ever dropped their names. The black and white is Oliver. The tabby is Althea.
To think it was just 6 months ago I posted regularly. Feels like forever.

Anyway have a cat update!
This is a very relatable problem. Ironically we just finished an event we do each year on the SnD discord: Finish the Damn Game Month, where folks can win some fun prizes for clearing out titles in their backlogs.
It's there! Go grab a copy if you haven't played it already!
I hear that the Epic store will soon be offering Nightingale on its free offerings.

I played over 200 hours wrote about it. Then played 200 more hours after the Realms Rebuilt update. If you were curious, I happen to have an early access review right here for you:

I just want to feel well enough again to go to game night and play a full game of Red Dust Rebellion.

While I agree, can we also take a step back and realize this country is so far gone that we have a concept of a "normal" government shutdown?
Folks — this is not a normal government shutdown.

Let me explain the stakes and how we got here.
