That's the commonly used excuse but it's not actually true.William IV dismissed Lord Melbourne in 1834 so if Johnson was found to have lied to the Queen, why didn't King Charles overrule his blatant mockery of the honours system? Honours for the parliamentary hairdresser, Charlotte Owen & Rees-Mogg?

With a king too weak to hold a corrupt Tory government to account, and a Prince who's fraternised with a nonce and a spy, I wonder why the Royal Family even invests in a pre-Christmas lunch? Does this show the people they're in tune with them? Or should we just eat cake?
