Mstyslav Chernov is the storyteller the world needs. Andriivka premiers in NYC Friday the 25th of July. From Aug 1, it’ll be in select cinemas.

Don’t turn away. These soldiers sacrificed everything to protect their country. The least you can do is witness it.

Finally, here is the trailer for ‘2000 METERS TO ANDRIIVKA’ by Mstyslav Chernov— a documentary about the Ukrainian counteroffensive. I was honored to work on this as a translator, with Frontline.

The film will be screening in UK and Irish cinemas starting August 1st.

It’s beautiful to me that when you search “vyshyvanka” or “Ukraine” as a GIF to use on Instagram, it’s flooded with embroidery, flags, wheat.

4 yrs ago when you searched “Ukraine” you’d get a GIF of a drunk Russian dude.

If you wear a traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirt for Vyshyvanka Day (May 15), wear it with the knowledge that our family, friends, and loved ones died to make sure Ukrainian culture and defiance aren’t erased by terrorists and their enablers. Our embroidery is an act of resistance.

Someone asked ChatGPT what future 'fame' will be based on what we've seen for 50 yrs. Two answers were:

-Cultural preservationists and Translators
-Multidisciplinary storytellers

Ultimately, humans need connection. And the way to do that is to amplify each other's stories.

'Bread and circuses'. This phrase originates from the Roman poet Juvenal & refers to the idea of pacifying people with basic necessities such as food and entertainment, to distract from deeper issues.

Stop getting distracted on here, and keep paying attention.
