insidestory1 on Tumblr - I think one of the biggest misconceptions about fatigue is that it's just a more extreme version of tiredness. Fatigue and tiredness are not the same thing. The biggest difference between them is that tiredness goes away if you rest, but fatigue doesn't. When you suffer from fatigue, your body keeps draining you even while you're lying down or sleeping. It's like a leak's been opened up somewhere and your energy keeps draining away no matter what you do. All you can do is wait and hope that at some point the flow will stop.

Temps just dropped 20 degrees in 30 minutes. Was 53F, now 33F and winds we don't need. Will be 13F overnight. 🥶 Snow on the way.

Time to hunker down and stay warm.

I offer boxes to the cat colony but they don't seem to care about them. The only boxes they use are the insulated boxes we built for their winter shelters.

Well fuck. I had nothing but problems trying to hang the brackets for the curtain rods. Drilled pilot holes, bent the wall anchors when installing 🤬, couldn't get the screws into the wall. 🤬

We are experiencing a pre-storm Chinook: fierce, warm winds melting the snow. Usually I hear the resulting slushy streets in March so the mindfuck I am having in December is depressing. I have 3 more months before slushy optimism.

The overwintering robins aren't helping matters.
