It’s really only the first book that’s super dry, IMO. When they stop time jumping so often you don’t get to spend much time with the characters they get a lot more fun.

I love the TV show, though! But I have no idea why they deviated so much at the very end of the latest season…

It’s difficult to explain the level of MK3 obsession throughout 1995. Scouring early internet for rumors (shoutout rat.org), clipping magazines, trading secrets at the arcade, etc.

Then UMK3 for the Saturn came out and I could stop spending all my 20ps on the arcade cabinet!

I know MK2 is a lot of people’s fave but U/MK3 was such a case of right place right time for me. Same with the SF Alpha games - I was now old enough to spend all my time at the arcades, lol.

I went to London for a Star Trek con with my mum and found an MK3 strategy guide and ran to a pay phone to ring my brother back home and read secrets and fatality inputs and shit to him to scribble down and try IMMEDIATELY on the Mega Drive.

What a time to be alive.

Daaamn the first Tomb Raider is just as good as I remembered from having it on the Saturn when it was new, and being able to play it on a physical cartridge on a plane is aces

Never noticed before but imagine if Fade to Black had similarly good mechanics? Now THAT would have been a Flashback sequel

The Whitestone Ziggurat is a location in the Dungeons and Dragons web series Critical Role and animated series The Legend of Vox Machina. This image shows a
digital illustration of a necromantic ritual taking place atop a tiered pyramid with a long staircase leading to a structure at the top. Some of the tiers also feature rows of stone arches with carved details. There are tall, thin pillars on each corner of the pyramid with hollow stone circles on top. It was a pretty ironic post!

I booked the day off work to play original MGS3 the day it came out, and being a total sicko I told it I was a fan of MGS2, and I trolled me brilliantly!

But aside from all that my gripe still kind of stands, lmao. It is a bit obscene how long it takes to get going.

Agreed. Most people really don’t know how much it costs to run - so much that it CANNOT pay for itself. It is NOT inevitable. It’s a parlour trick - by definition - for now, and cannot last.

Like, you know this isn’t sustainable, right? These companies have targets that are literally impossible, right? Your affirmation toy will be taken away from you.
