@friendzonepod.bsky.social, good kid, mad city was and still is one of my favorite episodes. It shifted my parenting so much. Just like you, one of our kids is not a “good kid” and the other is the family’s idea of a good kid. It allowed me to find the balance in it all and recognize my biases.

In lieu of a birth certificate, they will need to show the actual green card along with proof of their ssn. This can be the card or a w2 with the ssn on it.

Hey @friendzonepod.bsky.social, green card holders can get Real ID. Real ID is more to prove lawful residency and not just citizenship. While the process is still annoying, didn’t want your listeners to think they can’t get it.

Another year, another Georgia Council of Developmental Disabilities Advocacy day at the State Capitol. Today we advocated for a $65 Million investment in NOW & COMP waiver to help the 7,900 people on the waitlist

Independent lives in their communities.
WHAT IS A WAIVER?
The New Options Waiver (NOW) and the Comprehensive Supports Waiver
Program (COMP) are vital federal waivers in Georgia, designed to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live more independent lives within their communities,
THERE IS A HIGH BAR TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR NOW/COMP
WAIVERS, AND ONLY A LIMITED NUMBER OF GEORGIANS WITH I/DD QUALIFY.
if an Individual does qualify, they get added to a waltlist.
