Kiwi. Writer, mum of grown boys, refugee from Twitter to which I've been addicted, but it's a bad buzz. Admitted to myself at the weekend I need to experience more of the grass and the sky and the trees and flowers to remember the world is not all bad

Ni hao and Thank you, I appreciate your insight into how dictatorships happen. I have studied a bit about Mao and how an attack on the educated is a slippery slope.

I have just been suppressed over on twitter for speaking in calm rational terms while Maga tweets are running rampant on this issue. Hard not to believe the thought police is now on X among ordinary people.

“Despite unprecedented economic growth over the last few decades, wages have stagnated globally and have not kept pace with rising productivity. This means that shareholder payouts are rising faster than wages, so workers don’t get a fair share of the productivity they deliver.”

Grenfell Towers, leaky homes, Pike River, CTV building, Mosque terrorism, ruin of Mackenzie high country and Canterbury rivers, not to mention workers rights, health... it goes on and on across all aspects of life. We need researched expertise.

A point for #nzpol Treaty principles submissions- David Seymour implies nowhere else have Indigenous people’s rights been enshrined in law-he’s incorrect-he also argues critics need to show how ‘modern’ nations move forward with such arrangements-here are 20 examples e-tangata.co.nz/korero/un-sp....

We are in our generation’s moment of what we are willing to stand up for… or submit to …that will set the course for the new world. Because the old one is over.
Canadian MP Charlie Angus: The message I’m hearing from people across Canada is this: they’re not afraid of you. They know you’re a convicted felon. They know that the people you’re bringing in to run your, let’s call it an “organization” rather than a government, are grifters, thieves, and thugs.
