I do hope all this adulation doesn’t alter President Trump’s gracious and unassuming character…

Yes. Or “Not experienced experience”. As I call it.
tds153.bsky.social
Someone on the news talking about “vicarious lived experience”. Which presumably is another way of saying “unlived experience”.

I like it that Death is such a big fan of Heath Robinson too. Really puts the work in on the detailing. He’d be huge on YouTube…

Watching Final Destination: Bloodlines. Pure cinema. Every close-up an Itchy and Scratchy cartoon in embryo.

Netflix’s “Slow Burn”: two hours of plot spread over eight.
tds153.bsky.social
Not for me. But some people seem to love it.

I’m also questioning the wisdom of lighting the brewery with a mixture gaslight and GIANT BONFIRES.

Ironically the street scenes are strikingly short of horseshit…

Watching The House of Guinness. There’s a publican who appears to be in his way to a fancy dress party as a leprechaun. I’m not *absolutely* convinced this is an accurate representation of nineteenth century Dublin.

You’d hope. But I checked and I’m pretty sure it is.

Is it possible for a country to die of embarrassment?
@realDonald Trump
Thank you to President Putin!

Above a Putin quote about President Trump not winning the Nobel
Peace Prize:
"This award lost credibility. The committee discussed the prize for people who have done nothing for the world."
"He solves complex problems, crises that last for decades."

Not sure. But it’s close to midnight I think.

Went to see Katherine Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite. Quite glad I’ll be among those who won’t have a clue what the hell just hit them.
tds153.bsky.social
It would be disastrous to give Trump the Nobel Peace Prize. He wouldn’t have to make any kind of effort to win it any more.

Chalky I could handle…. Though I should confess that my opinion is based on around 25 minutes of the first episode of the first series. I know perfectly decent human beings who tell me that it ISN’T a perfect distillation of our faithless, solipsistic, truth-deprived times.

A headline that neatly sums up why I don’t watch Traitors.
Headline from The Times

REVIEW
The Celebrity Traitors — a fun start but will these luvvies get nasty enough?

This morning I turned on my phone only to find that it had changed my user name to Shirley, and when I tried to enter a simple Google query it came out as "Do you like gladiator movies?"

Then I realised it was in Airplane! mode.

Can’t help with the picture I’m afraid.

I haven't read any Jilly Cooper novels, but I honour her for her elaboration of the Curtain Theory of British Social Class -- which divides society into the Haves and Have Nets.
