I'm proud to announce that the {voxanalysis} package is officially released!

This package includes VOX Analysis Shiny Application, which improves early childhood autism diagnosis. It also includes VOX-related data viz and metrics available to anyone with an R background.

After attending No Kings yesterday, I am more hopeful about our country than I have been in a long time. The country we grew up in is still there, and we can save it. 🇺🇸

Are you a left-leaning political centrist who doesn't like protests? Me too. But this time, I'm going to the No Kings protests on Saturday. And I hope you join me.

I even wrote a whole article about why:

I'll be going to the No Kings protest this weekend. I hope you do too. :)

I know grammatically, it is correct to say "the data are...", as opposed to "the data is..."

But it still just sounds so wrong.

A new hobby I have is asking ChatGPT to write something that I know will be terrible.

Today, I asked it to write me a LinkedIn post, describing how I overcame my grandmother's passing by reflecting on the Bootstrapping technique used in data science.

It did not disappoint.

I have only seen two LinkedIn posts today, and both started with, "Is [X] dying? Not quite. But it is changing."

I am liking Posit Connect Cloud so far. :)

I have a single R Shiny application to deploy that needs secured database connections and user authentication.

shinyapps. io can't do both, and I have feeling Posit Connect Cloud is gonna charge too much for just for SSO.

What do folks here think about Shiny Server vs Shiny Proxy instead? #rshiny

I used to build dashboards with Tableau and SSRS that relied on SQL databases. My gosh were they sluggish.

For the first time, I'm using SQL with R Shiny and – OMG! – talk about an improvement.

There is something so satisfying about getting to work with SQL again. :)

Google says my Workspace Business subscription will go up in price next month because of the "significant added AI value."

All I'm gonna say is Google Drive and gmail worked just fine without AI.

I'll never understand why it takes like 10 clicks to get to your zoom account's URL.

I attended a #nokings rally today in Barcelona, Spain. I did not have enough time to buy a poster and make my own sign, so I thought I’d share the ones I saw :)

Stock market futures are way up this morning. It's almost like investors view a reduction in tariffs as a good thing.

I've been writing more on substack nowadays. I love the platform, but it's challenging to get my ggplot2 graphs copied over.

I wish I could just copy and paste from Posit Cloud, but I'm forced to save the image to my desktop, only to then re-upload it to substack.

Anyone found a better way?

I made another chart about Target's stock.

The company's stock price has, dare I say, missed the mark.

I've been getting back to my roots with stock market analysis, which is why I've been posting so much about it lately.

One interesting story I've uncovered is the dramatic difference between Walmart and Target's stock price.

I sometimes like to post about #dataviz that I can't read because I'm red-green colorblind. Usually, I can get around it, but this one is genuinely hard for me. I can't tell which line belongs to which group.

Red and black shapes and text, unless very large, are hard for me to distinguish.

I wrote a follow-up article about whether the stock market is experiencing a "sucker's rally."

I explain the scenarios where the "suckers" will be vindicated.

That would, unfortunately, make me the sucker.

Did you know that cocoa futures outperformed bitcoin last year? Crop disease and price controls on farmers led to a major shortage in cocoa beans.

This had major repercussions for chocolate manufacturers, like the Hershey Co., whose stock price has suffered.

Despite the drop in the market, I'm not increasing my investment in stocks just yet. Read why below:
