In ~1986, my brother and I (12) were let loose on a hideously expensive editing desk; It had 6 genlocked of ampex machines, each with a copy of the source tape, getting whipped around under computer control. Entirely analog and realtime. Our ad edits/mixes were.. fun and inappropriate.

Weird events come in bunches. First I talked to a colleague about semi-early Ethernet, then it turns out that a friend is a assembling a museum piece and goes "Hey, would you happen to have an Ethernet adapter".. Yes I do. Apparently Novell had made 192.000 NE2000's by 1989. (Where's my NI5010?)

I sent in the adoption form already. Now we wait :-)
