6) The film was AP'd by Branagh's former assistant William Moseley. The film also has a cameo by the actor William Moseley, in a scene where Hamish McColl (the writer) also cameos. It took longer than you'd think to confirm that these are different people.

5) can't remember if I cut this or not but the props team were at least thinking about designs for sequels, specifically the mind-wipe device, which only really comes into play in the third book.

3) this is just for kids who grew up in my house in the early 2000s but Miranda Raison, who played Artemis's mother, was Jo from Spooks. Laurence Kinlan, who played Holly's father, was Dan Kelly in the Heath Ledge Ned Kelly. Neither are in the final cut.

2) the design for Butler (and by extension Juliet) was inspired by Cheddar Man - in 2018 they'd just done DNA testing on the 10,000 year old human remains and found he had brown skin and blue eyes
