On top of refusing to fully fund SNAP during the shutdown, the Trump regime has:

-Cut $1 billion from USDA programs supporting food banks
-Enacted tariffs that have caused food prices to rise
-Made the largest cut to SNAP in history
-Canceled the annual food security survey

Make no mistake: The money is available to fund SNAP during this shutdown. Trump is making a choice to withhold it.

Union federal workers say "We need to hold the line!"
Washington, DC, November 6, 2025
AFGE Reformers, a group of rank and file members working for increased democracy within the American Federation of Government Employees, have issued an open letter to AFGE President Everett Kelley disagreeing with his recent call for an immediate end to the federal government shutdown via a “clean” continuing resolution.
Although federal workers have faced unprecedented attacks this year, reopening the federal government with a budget that harms working people is not worth the cost, the members who have signed on say. Signatories urge AFGE leaders to stand with allies in Congress who are trying to secure a better budget: one that ensures affordable healthcare, protects public services, and constrains unprecedented executive power over federal spending.
Mae apGoyannon (he/they), AFGE Local 2157 states, “I was shocked when I read President Kelley’s statement. Myself and most of the other federal workers I know think that helping keep healthcare and other costs affordable for the majority of Americans is more important than getting paid sooner. We took an oath to defend the Constitution and serve the people, and we are helping each other hold on without pay as long as we can so that we can continue to fulfill that oath.”
