At the end of October, around 1 in 6 Oregonians will lose their SNAP food benefits. We are highlighting some of the food assistant resources we are aware of in the Portland metro area. Please share these resources to extend the reach and support the organizations so they can increase their impact!
If you haven’t yet, we would love to see you out there with us at a volunteer event! Overgrown and cluttered yards can often be the target of nuisance or negligence complaints and can be used as a gentrification tactic to push homeowners out of their home. Join us in helping prevent that! 🌷
This recent project is just in time for the rainy season and the upcoming winter! A heavy tree branch had fallen into this homeowner's roof, damaging it & causing a significant leak. This project was important for the wellbeing of the homeowner & their house. Your donations make this possible! TY
Our newest completed Home Improvement Project! The homeowner owns a small-business, that is run out of her home. The back deck was rotting, creating a safety hazard for her and her customers. The deck was fully redone, and handrails added for the safety and success and her and her business! Go team!
Our recent garden bed project is finished! In a workshop, students with Blueprint Foundation built wooden garden beds for our homeowners.
Our volunteers then went and installed and filled the garden beds with flowers/veggies. Thank you all for making this project possible!

This week was National Nonprofit Day! Between the uncertainty causing folks to dial down their spending and the federal funding cuts, it’s been a tough year for nonprofits.
We are working to build our online presence to allow for more feedback from you! This is important for building partnerships through trust. Using Starloop, a tree will be planted for every review written!
Use the link to leave a review and plant a tree! We deeply appreciate it :)

We're excited to share that we have wrapped up a big Home Improvement project for one of our lovely homeowners. This was a three phase project which included replacing and repairing the back deck, doing a full roof replacement, and building a brand new cover for the front porch. Check it out!
“May of 2020 was a pivotal time for me. To be a part of a magazine that’s curated by Black Leaders of Portland and commemorating the 5 year anniversary of that moment in time means the world to me!”

Closing out this banger — thanks to David @habsauce and @Lardo for putting together the Citizenwich donation project. Citizenwich returns in January. Part of the sales went to us! Community based donations like these go directly into our work renovating Black-owned homes in PDX. Thank you all!
