Thats not entirely true, it was a horribly racist federal campaign for a “voice” that failed but it hasn’t stopped Victoria from passing a treaty with First Nations at a state level although conservatives have vowed to repeal it if they form govt.
Australia have been sending refugee arrivals offshore for so long its now been normalised and no one even thinks about it and its barely even mentioned during election campaigns. The conservative UK govts refugee policy was advised by an Australian.
Thinking about it, people without many followers can easily just block and remove any quote tweets so its a lot better for smaller users then the other site. I'm sure being a big account must be horrible though, when it really gets bad maybe being able to private your account would be good?

Actually went for a ride and got 0 magpie swoops, is it over? I am seeing a lot of magpie babies out of the nests doing the whiny little song asking to be fed.
There is no doubt there are some issues with crime right now and some horrific stuff has happened even in my local town but the media and opposition focuses on it 24/7. I don't feel unsafe at all personally and I don't think putting more kids in jail will help with anything.

I wish i could say this was rare but there are so many gaps in shared paths like this around Melbourne, they care more about traffic calming the people on bikes and annoying them with bollards then actually making the path connections work and easy to navigate
