Currently in the intermission of SEVEN SAMURAI in a packed theater. This movie is amazing and looks beautiful.
26 years of payments before refinancing out of PMI on an FHA loan.
Are you suggesting that it is not prudent for a homebuyer to still owe about 75% of the loan amount (plus interest) after making monthly payments for 30 years?
Brazil is so shitty right now I'm getting 1994 vibes.
Kevin Hassett can eat shit.
Unless it's worn by a cadaver in a morgue freezer, hard pass.
It's beyond not getting paid. Voters might have forgotten, but civilian feds remember what it was like from 2017-21. It was hell. And this time it's so much worse. Anyone who can retire right now is leaving even if they didn't plan to originally. And it's much worse this go-around.
Wow it's almost like there are repercussions to making life hell for your most experienced employees.
Is that a Hudsucker Proxy reference?
Wild take from the author of HOW TO BE PERFECT.
Do you loathe someone with a nut allergy?

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

James Watson, dead at 97, was a scientific legend and a pariah among his peers
James Watson, the co-discoverer of the structure of DNA who died Thursday at 97, was a scientific legend and a pariah among his peers.

It's the scam of lowering your monthly payment but extending the payment horizon, so the lender would cash in crazy amounts of interest. This is only a good idea in terms of cash flow, and terrible for actually building equity [in a society where one's home is often their most valuable asset].
I'm a socially awkward yet socially motivated person, so having felt the pain of losing friendships I valued and coming to understand the asymmetry of those relationships made me have a more visceral reaction to what the Tim Robinson character was going through, regardless of how out-there he was.
It definitely had more resonance than I expected.
Yeah, I think that the Jimmy Stewart character having been with her and remaining friends could fairly be categorized into Ebert's Idiot Plot theorem.
Please realize that there are about 2,000 people who work at BLS who would have to go along with fudging the numbers. The commissioner is the only political appointee in the entire agency. They would have to overhaul everything to be able to directly interfere with estimates.
Hilariously, this half-baked "truth" is the most detailed health care proposal offered by Republicans since the ACA has been enacted.
So he wants people to use the money for the same purpose without the existing constraints (that the money must be spent on health insurance premiums).

At least it's consistent with how he treats Congressional appropriations. 🙄
They'll eventually run out of idiots.
Irreparable harm to a President flagrantly violating Article I Section 8 of the Constitution versus irreparable harm to 42,000,000 Americans who might go hungry.

Really tough call for the Supreme Court.
