Hey there Bluesky 👋 nice to meet you.

I’m Susie. I’m a mom of two, a lifelong education advocate, and a bipartisan leader fighting to make Washington work for YOU on the common sense issues we can all get behind.

Follow along for updates on how I'm getting results for southern Nevada 🏜️
I have long said that if working people can’t afford their health coverage, they will go without it. It is a risk families can’t afford.

So proud of Troop 407’s eleven newest Eagle Scouts! This is the first time in Las Vegas — and only the second time nationally — a troop has achieved this feat. Your hard work, leadership, and service set the example of what young people can accomplish.

December 7, 1941 is a day that lives in infamy. Eighty-four years later, we continue to honor the 2,400 lives lost at Pearl Harbor and the courage of all who answered the call.

Congratulations to this year’s Congressional App Challenge winners!

It was great to celebrate our first-place winner, Rohitha Baskaran for her app, FireSense.

Congrats as well to Daniel, Reagan, Kian, and Andrew for coming in second & third place!

Two years ago, UNLV students and faculty barricaded themselves behind classroom doors, hid under their desks, and texted family and friends “I love you.”

By the day’s end, three faculty members were taken from us: Patricia Navarro-Velez, Jerry Chang, and Naoko Takemaru. (1/2)

Working together with Clark County, I’m getting Sandy Valley Road improvements moving ✅

Repaving and rebuilding will happen from Goodsprings to Cherokee to make the road safer and easier to drive on.

Today, I stood with Republicans and Democrats who are coming together and putting the American people above partisan politics to save health care. I have long said that I am willing to work with anyone to prevent health care costs from skyrocketing for millions of Americans this January.

It is our duty to protect our men and women in uniform from invisible enemies like toxic radiation exposure. 🧵 (1/3)

Republicans and Democrats alike benefit from cheap energy. That’s why I support solar: one of the most cost effective forms of energy here in Nevada where the sun shines 300+ days a year. (1/2)

The President is saying affordability “doesn’t mean anything to anybody.” Well, Mr. President, it means something to me and my constituents 🧵 (1/3)

I’ve seen far too many children of my friends and fellow parents struggle with addiction and substance abuse. I’m so grateful that this lifesaving law will now better protect our children and train health care providers and educators on best practices for helping youth suffering from addiction.

Had such a great evening meeting Grady from Virginia City, Nevada, the winner of this year’s Capitol Christmas tree essay contest. (1/3)

Had a wonderful night honoring Peter Palivos as U.S. Army General Andrew Poppas presented him with the Distinguished Civilian Service Medal.

Peter has worked for decades to support veterans, and now has received the U.S. Army’s highest civilian award in recognition of his leadership.

Republicans in Washington have slashed bipartisan HIV-related funding — and innocent people are paying the price. On behalf of everyone living with HIV & AIDS and for the sake of the public's health, we must fight back.

Our service workers can’t benefit from “No Tax on Tips” if they aren’t receiving tips thanks to the #TrumpSlump or if they’ve lost their jobs.

Did you know that there is $50 million tied up by government red tape that could be used to repair the Hoover Dam?

I have a bipartisan bill that will unlock these existing funds to fix the Hoover Dam’s aging infrastructure ⬇️

One of my favorite things about living in Southern Nevada is shopping at our great small businesses! Our hardworking entrepreneurs keep our communities vibrant and our local economy strong.

Fifty years ago, Congress passed the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act which has helped so many students receive the special education and services they need to learn alongside their classmates.

Ahead of Small Business Saturday, I got to stop by so many incredible stores inside the Chinatown Mall! It was so great to check out everything they offer – from trinkets to hair accessories, home decor items, and so much more.

So great to stop by U.S.VETS Las Vegas with my team to help serve an early Thanksgiving lunch and spend time with the vets who call our community home. U.S.VETS provides hundreds of veterans with housing, job support, and critical services every year.

Because of the Trump Administration’s tariffs and economic chaos, Thanksgiving dinner is costing families 10% more than last year. That's more than 3x the rate of inflation. (1/2)

I’m horrified by the news that two members of the National Guard were shot today in D.C. I’m keeping them, their families, and every first responder on the scene in my thoughts. Violence has no place in our communities.

Southern Nevadans know how important protecting our water supply is. That’s why I’m teaming up with Congressman Juan Ciscomani to reauthorize my bipartisan Large-Scale Water Recycling Act so we can invest in major water recycling projects and keep taps flowing for families across the Southwest.
Bill aims to preserve funding for key solution to Colorado River drought
The Bureau of Reclamation has funded water reuse projects with those funds throughout the Colorado River Basin.

Southern Nevadans deserve homes they can afford — I’m working with local partners to make it possible. From cracking down on corporate ownership to cutting red tape and unlocking federal lands, we’re leaving no stone unturned to increase our housing supply and bring costs down for working families.
