My son pulled out some #ttrpg books to read this morning. D&D 2024 Monster Manual, the old Fantasy Companion for Savage Worlds, the Referee's Tome from OSE Advanced Fantasy, and the Saving Point Monster Book vol 1. Find more about the last one here: share.google/88Z8TfOKZDJT...

I've been sitting on the West End Games Star Wars RPG Style Guide for over thirty years. I've now scanned the document and created a video showing all 59 pages. I hope this helps more fans of the game get a look at some behind-the-scenes documentation. youtu.be/GsW1MGpXu4M?...

We are playing a Halloween #ttrpg one shot 🎃. I'll be running The Dare, a Call of Cthulhu scenario, using The Eldritch Hack. I made a custom character sheet for that session. Looking forward to playing this! Check them out:

Talking about Flash Gordon by @danschkade.bsky.social, I would love to see a #ttrpg supplement from his run. I know there is a Savage Worlds adaptation, and I own all the books for it. I'd love to see more content from Dan's stories. What other #ttrpg system you think can handle Flash Gordon well?
I've said it before, and will say again, the Flash Gordon comic strip by @danschkade.bsky.social is my current favorite comic. So much so that I am surprised. The twist of thr current storyline just gave me chills. Can't recommend it enough! #comics #FlashGordon

Of course! I need to listen to the podcast
How do you use spy agencies in your superhero games? Do you play spy games like Spycraft, Top Secret or James Bond? I want to run a spy game set in the 1980s that becomes alternate history as the game progresses.
After yesterday's #Peacemaker episode I've got #superhero #ttrpg super spy agencies on my mind. I was fan of Marvel's SHIELD as a kid, reading back issues when I could get them. And then around 1987 or 1988 I read Champions' Primus and Demon. When Checkmate came out it became my favorite spy comic.
Watching a video about backdoor pilots on TV (see thr attached image) made me wonder, have you used the concept in a #ttrpg? Played an in game session to introduce anothe game. In a way, on a long-running campaign, it is easy to do, not do much when switch genres. Any thoughts?

To all my friends who are also fans of #ttrpg, how many fictional cities and nations do you know have been created in #rpgs with a modern setting? Off the top of my head, what comes to mind are Al Amarja in Over the Edge, Lakefront City in Gangbuster. What else can you think of?
Of those 4 setting supplements I read, Waterdeep began a long obsession with that fantasy city, the Savage Frontier was probably my favorite region of Faerun, but Karameikos was my favorite. I've read it over four times in my life, and Mystara is my favorite setting from TSR. #ttrpg #rpg #Mystara
In 1988 I had chickenpox and spent days away from school recuperating. I read a lot! Lots of comics, the 1st book of Philip José Farmer's The Dungeon, and game supplements. Specifically the 4 in the attached images. I had been playing for 2 years and these setting supplements captivated me. #ttrpg

There is a fantasy comic created by a local artist, published by a local imprint, and they made a monster book for D&D 5e and other fantasy #ttrpg. The Saving Point Monster Book vol. 1. I love it! #rpg

Today I have a more nuanced view of the game's co-creator. He expressed views that I vehemently disagree with, and they are present in his game design. I also recognize the importance and what Dave, Gary and their collaborators created, and the gift it has been for me, how #ttrpg influenced my life.
I've also come to understand the nostalgia people feel towards his Gygaxian style of writing, and discovered interesting elements, particularly from a historical perspective. But AD&D 1e is still a mess and horrible to learn, 2nd edition was a great improvement in accessibility. That was my AD&D!
I learned about all of the above on the Internt, the struggles the controversies, and rediscovered him though his online persona. I saw Gary at Gen Con 2007, and was so starstruck (which does not happen often) that I only managed a wave at him down a convention corridor after hours.
Unaware of his background, TSR's history, of him losing the business, or how the company dealt with Dave. I only knew that he seemed to tell me how I should enjoy the game and I was not a fan. I wasn't a fan of Gygaxin prose either, as a teenager whose first language was Spanish reading the books!
