Realizing that I no longer deal with the mindset of I need to stay up until 4 am to finish a comic or else I'm disappointing people. It's nice to take my time without pressure. Like yes I have my own deadlines but they're much more lax than they used to be.

This is why, if you're wanting to do comics, it's far more important to practice drawing comics than it is to practice drawing. The drawing comes with time and you get the time by getting opportunities to make comics, you get those opportunities by demonstrating storytelling.
A lot of people draw well. Who cares? Storytelling is the hook for old pros. Drawing gets better the more you do it, an understanding of storytelling (pacing, compositional choices, directional reading, etc) is frequently more intuitive and suggests potential in a way that a drawing can't.

I think the fans of Pendog are as mature and thoughtful as I hoped they’d be. I want people talking about the stories themes and not just shipping and yay!!! That’s what’s happening
