I'm visiting all 4500 pubs in the current Good Beer Guide. One pint per pub, 25 minute minimum stay. Them's the rules!

Pre emptive Spoons. Goodman's Field, Tower Hamlets. Bit drab n desolate. Half an Abbot (lost confidence in all Xmas guests) is more expensive than most pints, but good. Carpet not really in the spirit of Spoons. 6.3333
Caught train just eeek. 390 Spoons done ✅

Pre emptive Spoons. Half Moon, Stepney Green Mile End. Green Mile? Can see similarities. Nice building. Like a churchy micro Spoons. Sensible beers. And this 'arf an OP is well kept. Paranoid ppl gonna trip over my bags like in Kennington. Carpet 8. Oi oi.

Pub 3181, Surrey Docks, Rotherhithe. Cloudy warm Portbello's have been the bane of my week. Staff aren't in control, serving from a tiny specific area of bar ain't helping. Jnr Meewaw fan struggles to understand concept of pushing in. But his hat is nicely jaunty. Carpet a 7.

Yo. Greetings from a rainy West Croydon Windrush line service. Just the one tick before my train home but I might be able to squeeze in a pre-emptive too. Happy weekend. #BRAPA

Pub 3180, Six Gold Martlets, Burgess Hill. Two years in a row, you'll never sing that. Carpet a questioning 8/10. Titanic PP makes it six darks in a row for me. Gravy n mash potato dinner for crayon dysfunction child. I could live like this. See u early tmw for a final tick.

Pub 3179, Signal Box, Burgess Hill. Much better. Mood lit, snake bit, moonlit flit, I don't need a sh.... Pub smells of spanners and blue cheese but is weirdly homely. Dog sounds like metal. Cider Jesus. Why always Sarah? Last pub coming up.
November 28, 2025 at 5:33 PM
Pub 3178, BN6 Craft Beer & Tap, Hassocks. Dentist too 🦷. Ladder lady grunts. Twirly moustache man nicer. 4th consecutive black beer, joint best so far. Classic frustrating south coast micro blend of sociable yet distant. Ivor makes zero impression #BringBackCol
November 28, 2025 at 5:12 PM
Pub 3177 Lockhart Tavern, Haywards Heath. Moderner than expecting, seating is all sorts of bollox, but people smile and the atmosphere is easy. This stout just as trying as it was down in Battle. Ivor Panda bullies innocent pup. Happy hour tease, but not today!
November 28, 2025 at 3:29 PM
Pub 3176, Brewery Shades, Crawley. Good things come to those forced to wait. Two ghosts, both friendly I'm told , and nine Beak beers, remnants of a 'tap takeover'. Atmospheric & good history, even in the lower pink boutiquey area with Ocean Colour Scene playing.

Pub 3175, Cat, West Hoathly. What a delight! Despite dining leanings, they've kept the main bar pubby by the fire, the plum porter was crazy and the staff made of the right stuff baby.

Good morning all from the watery sunshine in Crawley 🌞

Annoyingly, pub due to open 11am but he tells me not for another 10-15 mins at 11:05 and I can't miss the 2 hrly bus at 11:35 so abandoning it for now to eat a gingerbread man at the bus station!

Pub 3174, Warrington Hotel, Maida Vale. Gorgeous pub. Bell ringing worked. Impressive Christmas tree in waiting. Not a great Naked Ladies. Old men cheering for Young Boys. West London has fallen!
November 27, 2025 at 8:00 PM
Pub 3173, Trinity, Borough. It was scary in the first half but Owen cared that he was in the GBG, the Hophead exceeds expectations and some casual Celtic fans cheered a goal then forgot about their second. Toxic substance on fingers but they ain't dropped off yet.
November 27, 2025 at 7:46 PM
Pub 3172, Old Red Lion, Kennington. Yo! Met birthday boy @mrpoombastic.bsky.social fellow ticker! My beer from Vocation tastes dredged out of Thames. Came here once but too pissed to count as legitimate tick! Nearly tripped up man with my rucksack n broke his neck but no.
November 27, 2025 at 5:40 PM
Pub 3171, British Oak, Blackheath Standard. Drama as a screw falls out of something important at this wood panelled Victorian roadside jewel. Strong pint of Double Ghost. Cockney workman in. Reckon pub has a left hand bar but no idea how to get to it!
November 27, 2025 at 3:28 PM
Pub 3170, Bugle Horn, Charlton. Thrillingly random GBG entry. Pedi a bit warm but decent. Sweary Destiny's Child. Carpet a threatening 7. Had to tell impressively bearded guv he has Christmas tree in it. 'There'll be plenty more of that mate, lolz'. Two loo doors excitement.
November 27, 2025 at 2:29 PM
Pub 3169, Lord Herbert, Plumstead Common. Bulky uncompromising street corner boozer, twist of the modern but enough traditional to keep me chirpy. Affable guvnor, excellent HPA, I'll be happy if every pub today is like this.

Happy lunchtime from a mild London Bridge. Late start as I slept in til 10:30am due to those Lenny Henry beds 🛏️ 😴

15 ticks to go, let's bring it down to single figs today.

Pub 3168, Dog House, Beddington. Oh yes, this is the pub! 5 star York Tonkoko. Barmaid Keeley. Main man Phil. Quiz night Ricky. All amazing folk. Messed up on Power of Love but redeemed on Up Where we Belong. Best song ever that isn't punk? Panda logo lady ftw.
November 26, 2025 at 10:47 PM
Pub 3167, Whispering Moon, Wallington. The 5.3% edges coffee, the carpet is a bold 8.5, and Georgie in the toilets, Ronnie Corbett-esque, hasn't eaten today but it's overrated anyway. A homely ' Spoons . One to go!
November 26, 2025 at 7:43 PM
Pub 3166, Asparagus, Battersea. Ex-Spoons but all the Spoons stuff they've kept is the best stuff. But I'm marking the carpet down for blurriness. 6/10. Clientele healthy mix of posh n scrote. Beer is nice if you don't look at it whilst drinking.
November 26, 2025 at 6:15 PM
Pub 3164, Balham Bowls Club, Balham. No guestbook, no buzzy intercom, no sign of bowls. But some delicious wood panelling, long lenses, and a chatty barman who likes mulled wine and both laughing at & being sympathetic to poor Sheff Wed.
November 26, 2025 at 4:35 PM
Pub 3163, Sir Julian Huxley , Selsdon. Carpet of week 9.5/10 cheers my heart. 'They're all noice, get the cheapest!' says man who looks like he knows. 'Wot a treat!' says barmaid of £1.39 a pint. Chirpy little belter of a Spoons. Forgot I've got my pyjama top on. #FittingIn
November 26, 2025 at 2:56 PM
Falcon, High Wycombe. Pre-emptive Spoons. Here on a bit of business so thought I'd sneak this in. Good qual. Carpet 7/10. Nicely uncomplicated take note Wimbledon. Back for SW London ticks x 5 or 6 this afternoon.
November 26, 2025 at 10:33 AM
Pub 3162, Wibbas Down Inn, Wimbledon. What a shambles! Longest wait for pint ever? Ain't even as busy as they claim. There's two bars, I order from the non cask one despite all beers being shown. Wish they'd just sent me to t'other. Huge place. Like 2 Spoons. Hate.
