6 months after I carved it out, I finally got around to continuing on this owl clock for a younger member (or 3) of my extended family.

Memo to self. When starting CNC machine on a 2-3hr carving, double check when it starts that you DID set the correct height zero point so it doesn't spend 2 1/2 hrs happily carving AIR, the thickness of the wood above the target shape...
Reset and restarted.... and triple checked.

So after around 33 years, my old soldering iron failed and no longer got properly warm.
I "could" replace the heating element, as Antex sell them, however to do so I would need a working soldering iron... Spot the problem.
I think the new one will be allowed to inherit the "old" stand.

Some days I despair. Called logged by phone this morning at around 8am, "Need help printing", all I need to do is direct them to the local authority's own IT, as they manage their print fleet themselves, we just fix the hardware.... Call them at 8:15, 8:35, 9:00, 9:55, 10:50, 11:55, 13:00, 14:15.
