Just found an 1891 example of a ghost turning someone's hair white (which is both the earliest and first I have found) so this Thanksgiving is going pretty great.

Excited to check out The Hooded Man. I don't usually think about RPGs as art configured for a moment in time (at least not in the same way novels, movies and TV are often seen as reckoning with the zeitgeist) but I can think of no better theme for right now than Robin Hood the RPG.

The other tray puzzles in the series use bootleg art that I more or less immediately recognize (more on that later) but this one seems both familiar and new. Which, if I were a Hong Kong toy company making bootlegs, I wouldn't use new art for one out four products, you know?

Check this out. Most everyone into RPGs is at least passing familiar with Larry Elmore's painting of the dragon fight that appeared on the cover of the 1983 Basic Rules box set. It's been slapped on everything from wallets to, most recently, Art & Arcana, the big D&D art retrospective.

I don't usually blame my weakness as a collector on other people but these beautiful, stupid pieces of 40 year old plastic are all @wyrdscience.bsky.social's fault.
