Nor Conservative or Reform and any one else will likely split the vote and allow one of those worse scenarios in! Quite a dilemma.

So sorry to hear this: it is devastating. Our first two pregnancies miscarried but we went on to have four (including twins!) wonderful children. Stay strong: love and best wishes.

This is true of most politicians, having to pretend it’s ok because the people voted for it. There’ll be no significant improvement until the truth becomes part of government policy.

Feels timely with Pride in Place and the growing recognition that a lot of the answer lies in revitalizing civic life, neighbourhood-level activity, etc. Supporting the tech that enables this.

Maybe it’s not a fund, or only partly a fund. Also a network, investment in convening people, etc. 2/n

We flounced out of the EU on the say-so of politicians who lied to us. And what a total shitshow that’s turned out to be. The polar opposite of what they promised. Now the call to flounce out of the ECHR. By the same people. Telling the same lies. Has the country been kicked in the head by a horse?

Re-sharing two things we published this week @kinship.works

AOC: We should be clear about who Charlie Kirk was. A man who believed that the civil rights act that granted black Americans the right to vote was a mistake… His rhetoric and beliefs were ignorant, uneducated, and sought to disenfranchise millions of Americans.

The government’s ambition to create up to 1,000 family hubs across England by 2028 has been backed by a £500m investment.

How should this additional investment be spent to best support disadvantaged children? Our new data analysis explores ⤵️
Where should the new best start family hubs be located to improve outcomes in the early years?
We recommend that the government uses data on access to family hubs, free school meals, inequality, and deprivation at a neighbourhood level to decide on the strategic placement of hubs

I’ve written a long read on the NHS, the 10 year plan, and how we can unstick the system

What does a digital-era healthcare system really mean?

(Warning: It’s one for a cup of tea!). (1/n)

Elon Musk openly called for violence on our streets yesterday.

I hope politicians from all parties come together to condemn his deeply dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric.

Britain must stand united against this clear attempt to undermine our democracy.

Eugh, reshuffles. One reason there’s so much energy in community-led development is that people have realized that communities are our best source of continuity. Politicians come and go every few months, but the community sticks around. (1/n)

So, Reform Party chair, David Bull (seen here wearing a panty pad of sympathy when Trump got shot on the ear) and anti-vax crank, Dr Malhotra (who thinks the Covid vaccine gave the royals cancer)…
🤡⚠️wrote Reform’s “health policy” together🤡⚠️

How TF is Reform not being laughed out of the door?

Last November Farage told Sky News:

“I’ve just exchanged contracts on the house that I’ll be living there in – is that good enough?… *I’ve bought a house in Clacton* What more do you want me to do?”

Oh, I dunno Nigel.

Tell the truth?

What on earth has possessed people to believe that Reform’s motley collection of our most abysmal, prejudiced and corrupt politicians - all with a proven track record of epic and piss-taking failure would be a remotely credible government? Seriously people… and media…
you’ve lost your goddam minds.

There can be no pussyfooting around this now. It’s sinister.
Tory/Reform voters are being swiftly radicalised by these bastards into full-on vicious racism.
And politicians/media giving them victim status, to dodge their own culpability and responsibility are being unforgivably cynical and feeble.

Libraries and post offices should merge, and there should be a coffee shop.

Pick up your pension, get a book, have a coffee with friends. Cut overheads for everyone, reduce loneliness, and save libraries and post offices.

Okay, lets do this.

The flag is being used as racist graffiti; unpatriotic, shameful, against all British values.
stuartplunkett.bsky.social
Vandalism, thuggery, abuse, rioting all being supported by Reform, Tories, and right wing press, indeed encouraged.
stuartplunkett.bsky.social
I don’t understand why his and Jenrick’s rhetoric isn’t illegal. They plant the seeds of hatred, are given space to water them regularly and are nurtured by the manure (there is a more suitable word!) from right wing media.

Awful lot of folk only focused on the first part of this, I reckon the second part is just as bad, politicians and commentators of the right trying to incite riots is just as important.
davidheniguk.bsky.social
Arresting 400+ people for the "terrorist" offence of protesting against mass murder while large segments of the right are openly encouraging riots against immigrants is a tale of a very unhappy country and government.
