Apparently our main fridges/freezer was fried so 90% of my food has to be thrown out. To be repaired “soon?”

So that’s fun to think of how much repair and replacement groceries will cost right now -_-

I tried to make the most out of my planned trip; and feel myself and my friend Jinou did a great job with what we could. But it doesn’t feel great knowing that if this continues until next Friday I’ll be siphoning another “paycheck” out of my savings.

On a personal level; the shutdown looms over my shoulders. The threat of layoffs and having to pull out of savings to “pay myself” my regularly expected paycheck last Friday; It’s upended my and thousands of others lives and made us worry how long until the ship sinks.

I still believe in our systems and the will of millions of people who want things to be better; protect the weak, lift people up out of difficult circumstances, and be empathetic and supportive of our neighbors.

I just think people are exposed to a stream of untruths that disrupt that good will

We need to work on talking to people who can be reached and will listen even if their initial stance is disagreement or ambivalence. The more people who realize these things are not normal and are intended to destroy everything 90 years of our country’s progress and functions the better.

During these times of rapid siloing, and people not talking, I implore you to try and have those hard conversations with family or even friends who may lean more conservative.

If people are not willing to have civil conversation with each other, nothing is going to change. It creates an impasse
