The medication stockpile bill is the bill I had pegged this year as the most important kind of bill to pass given federal threats, with a short time window to make it happen. Washington passed the same bill earlier this year.

It's so shameful for Newsom to veto this bill.

1. Yesterday, the press gave Gavin Newsom favorable coverage for signing pro-LGBTQ+ bills.

Little noticed, however, was that he vetoed one of the most important ones: a bill allowing trans people 12 month HRT stockpiles, protecting them from federal threats.

Look, I am old and well beyond the age limit, but I am starting to think that Logans Run might not have the worst ideas for removing anyone at the age of 30. We should at least try to apply that to Senators. Young enough to care about the world and not their own needs and old enough to do the same.

His "concerns" are couched in the conservatives lies of trans healthcare causing increased cost to cis peoples healthcare. Our costs are expensive - to a marginalized people who are often forced out of the workforce. But the costs of HRT itself is minimal and both cis and trans people would benefit.
