Dedicated to Snow, my beautiful Snowshoe rescue. Current home of feralish cats Foxx and Tabouli. This is also where I nap, write, bend wire, string beads, paint, draw, drink coffee and occasionally wash dishes. All photos mine unless indicated.
Tabouli came in last night after being out all the night before. Foxx played with her until she was exhausted. Stella came in to eat and wanted back outside immediately. So I guess I have a pet, a stray and a feral. And nothing is the same from day to day. #SnowPlaceFerals

Temps were 20 F last night. I had 3 overnight guests. All behaved beautifully and retired early, Tabouli and Stella under a chair and Foxx in a sweatshirt-lined box. They are no longer ferals. They are pets now, out doing their usual morning things. We'll see if they come back inside tonight.

Segue from Day 28, "Blue Electric Light."
Electric Light Orchestra - Can't Get it Out Of My Head (1975) • TopPop
Can't Get It Out of My Head" is a song written by Jeff Lynne and originally recorded by Electric Light Orchestra (also known as ELO). First released on the band's fourth album 'Eldorado' in September 1974, the song is the second track on the album and follows "Eldorado Overture." The song was released in November the same year as a single. The song became the band's first top 10 single in the United States, reaching number 9 and helped boost public awareness of the band in the U.S.; however, back in the UK the single and LP failed to chart. In 1978, it was included as the lead song on the four-track The ELO EP (UK release), reaching number 34 on the UK charts. The song has appeared on many ELO compilation albums. The song reached #19 on the Dutch Top 40 chart on 15 March 1975 the website Jeff Lynne Song reports: (https://www.jefflynnesongs.com/cgioomh/) 'There was a promo video for 'Can't Get It Out Of My Head' produced that features the band miming to the single version of the song. It starts off showing the exterior of an English building on Forshaw Heath Lane in Birmingham, then zooms into a small building beside the main building that is marked "Forshaw Heath Social Centre Hall" and fades to show the band playing in a very small room, as if the band is playing inside the building (although they may likely be on a sound stage). It's a very small, crowded room and there is no room for the band to move about. Each band member except Hugh McDowell is wearing a t-shirt with a logo for Avro's Toppop; Bev and Richard's are red while all the others' are yellow. Hugh, who had apparently just rejoined the band, is instead wearing a blue long sleeve shirt, but an Avro's Toppop sticker is clearly attached to his white cello and it gets several close-ups in the video. Avro's Toppop was a TV show from the Netherlands, modeled after the UK's Top Of The Pops, and presumably they were the sponsors of the video. Both Jeff and Kelly are wearing black shirts over their t-shirts, with Jeff's also having a print of large white wings across the chest and shoulders, which would make an appearance many more times in the following years. It's the first appearance of Mik Kaminski playing his famous blue violin and it's also the first appearance of a quite nervous looking Kelly Groucutt in the band.' This historic Toppop recording was recorded in Forshaw Heath Social Centre Hall in Birmingham in February 1975. feral boi wants to be my boi. Tonight Foxx walked away from his food to come love on me. Plans to TNR him but he soooo wants inside. He would be someone's wonderful pet. But I want someone to love him as I do and be kind to this sweet, gentle, loving void. #SnowPlaceFerals #CatsOfBluesky #aww

Tabouli has stolen my heart (don't tell Snow). She was so happy to see me, she purred and did a little dance, making biscuits on the concrete porch. She and Denzel are tolerating my picking them up, if squirmily. Here is Denzel, master of all he surveys. #CatsOfBluesky #SnowPlaceFerals #Cats

Spike is a girl.

She finally trusts me to check her for identifying traits. She has a white star on her throat and a white merkin. Google it. She has a most attractive blep. She also has no boy parts.

Now I cannot stop calling her Stella even tho Spike is a perfectly good name for a molly.

Tabouli & Denzel finally trust me. Tabs' tail serves as a chastity belt but she rolled belly up last week. Def a little femme. Yesterday was 1st time she did not flinch when I stroked her back. Denzel has a long battle scar on left rear leg. First feral to let me pet him. Healing for us all 💕

My first year in 5 to welcome trick-or-treaters, 3 little ones and 3 big ones (16, I think). I had 4 cats (Denzel loved them), 1 Care Bear and 1 princess who thought the whole thing was suspicious. I couldn't remember where I put the candy so I gave out snack size Fritos. They were a hit.

After a summer of doctors/vet visits, Snow and I are glad for autumn! After a year of socializing my ferals, I am able to actually pet them! Beautiful voids Spike, Denzel and Jimi show up for meals with sweet, shy gray tabby, Tabs. Bonding with her has been slow but no one can resist me for long.
