My wife once said I couldn't get a giant Moomintroll. It was touch and go for a moment whether I'd choose my wife or Moomin.

In the long run, I think I made the right choice, but the hurt still lingers.

I'm taking a break from writing. I found that I was writing out of habit, from the idea that it's my hobby and I love doing it, so surely I should be writing whenever I got the chance? But really it was mostly a slog, except for a few moments when it was great.

Hopefully the joy will return soon.

I had the exact same problem a couple of years ago. Another author too. We both sent Laurel a message. The other author's story was added to the contest list, mine never was.
