Or at least 'fought tooth and snail'... ie the lesser whorled ramshorn snail which has apparently been targeted by the Gov

We need coordinated action & resources ... not just words which, to be honest, are just stating what has been obvious to everyone for years. Come on UK Government... @marycreagh.bsky.social @katiewhitemp.bsky.social please let's have some ambition, leadership, focus and a sense of urgency on NR.

All sensible & yes but if the Gov believes this, why are its actions moving in the opposite direction & counter to the urgent need for nature recovery? Eg the low priority being given to peat recovery

Choice name by the way (Bilberry Dot)

The books say that mines of Stigmella myrtillella (Bilberry Dot) are hard to find and I’d agree. Thankfully I eventually found my first one ever yesterday evening (in Leicestershire) after quite a lot of searching. Egg on underside near mid-rib as is typical for this species. #teammoth

It’s called the Barbados Threadsnake, and it had only been seen a handful of times before.

We’re heartbroken to learn that Dr Jane Goodall has passed away, aged 91.

Dr Goodall was one of the true conservation giants of our time. Let’s honour her legacy by choosing to make a difference in the world - by protecting it.

Thank you, Jane, for everything you did for our planet. 💚

Seagrass prevents coastal erosion, stores carbon, and contributes to food security.

Yet, these vital ecosystems are in decline.

Join #GenerationRestoration and take action for our precious ecosystems: bit.ly/3fNtmjj
Illustrated seahorses, fish, seaweed, and a turtle are overlaid on an underwater background of seagrass. Text reads: “Let’s restore seagrass beds. Join #GenerationRestoration.” Logos of UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, UNEP, and FAO appear at the bottom.

Pricing charities & communities out of justice is not the way to deliver nature-friendly development👩‍⚖️

Going to court is not something we undertake lightly, with costs already too high for some🪙

Ditching the commitment to affordable justice would mean unaccountable developers & more bad projects👇

Healthy ecosystems & human development can and should go hand in hand.
Policies that balance conservation with community needs, like sustainable fisheries and wildlife management, show us how to thrive while protecting nature.

Appalling & embarrassing for the UK as the #ClimateEmergency deepens & the need for urgent action increases ...but not that surprising given his and the Chancellor's ignorant & dismissive views on the environment - & their failure to recognise that society & economy depend totally on its health
