People ask why every public domain movie is horror but I used the public domain of Amityville to make a Romcom then the PD of Popeye to make an adventure movie.
Both got less coverage, distribution offers, and money than the horror takes: so they're just the clear better financial decision.

Always silly to me when folks who pirate will strongly argue they want to own things, but then ignore that buying physical media is legal, supports the work, and also lets them own it (can rip discs if you want a back up!)
