I brought in a Neo Geo cabinet and they made me remove it because people were playing it too frequently. We also got yelled at for the Chu Chu Haiku

Reminding me of the days when I was working for a (failing) startup in 2000 and on our breaks we’d play Chu Chu Rocket and then taunt each other in haiku in the group chat afterwards

I remember a huge bin of Atari 2600 carts in front of Kay Bee at the mall. You probably could have walked off with a bunch of games and they didn't GAF because they were a dollar each

Too soon to tell? I haven't noticed a difference in handling/reassembly and I hit the completed plastic with 303 so hopefully it holds up

Been messing around with the retrobrite process this weekend and have had some okay results. I also realized I took almost no pictures other than this NES Advantage in-progress
A very yellowed NES Advantage joystick with the ball and turbo dials removed. It's also dirty with scratches on the case The NES Advantage with a more traditional grey color though the original lighter color is still visible in the seams. It is just the shell with somewhat still yellowed buttons stacked in the background

I played as Sawada. I played as a few of the other characters. A lot of time and effort went into making this terrible game more easily accessible. Preservation!

Cool things happening thanks to @nathaniellockhart.bsky.social ‘s Street Fighter: The Movie: The Arcade Game CPS1/2 harness! Now I can easily swap in the board for a quick fix instead of re-wiring the cabinet

A Street Fighter: The Movie Arcade PCB attached to a board inside a Capcom Mini Cute cabinet. The board is connected to a separate board that breaks out the kicks, punches, and sound so that it can easily be connected to a cabinet wired for the standard Capcom CPS1 or 2 boards A screenshot of the Capcom Mini Cute arcade cabinet with joysticks and buttons visible. On the screen is the Street Fighter: The Movie game logo The same Capcom mini cute but this time on the screen there is a picture of a close up of Jean Claude Van Damme flexing and his American flag tattoo is visible

Headed to Portland next week for PRGE and in hindsight I should have bought this T-shirt I spotted at the flea market
A cream colored T-shirt with three frogs on it. The one in the middle has a cowboy hat and two in the background have nightly colored hair. The text around the frogs reads "Giddy Up Sluts"

Also saw this CRT in a clear case. When I mentioned I had never seen one like it the vendor said "I guess you've never been to prison"
A 13 inch RCA TV in a completely transparent plastic case with all of the internal electronics visible

I never considered buying a vintage Chuck E. Cheese-branded tray but it was $10 at the flea market and 100% my jam
A round plastic ivrory-colored tray about the size of a large pizza with a red Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Theater logo in the middle

Check out the open source CRT project Thomas has been working on. I saw it at VCF West last year and am really impressed with his progress github.com/tdaede/td-crt

I, too, learned from a kid that if you kicked the Frogger coin door hard enough it’d credit up. Though the method I learned was facing away from the machine and hitting it with my heel. Maybe it was the same kid going from town to town in the Midwest teaching kids how to play Frogger for free

I dunno, around 1983 or so, at an arcade in a K-Mart, a kid showed me that a swift kick, not that hard, to the coin door of the Frogger machine added a credit. That's how I broke my toe, but also got the high score on Frogger.
