About 10 of those were Menorca in the spring (and of those, Pale mottled willow, Ni, bordered straw and hummingbird h-m all been in the garden at home this year) - other than that Mull, Argyll and East Lothian
Wow (whichever it is!) Are you on @gmtord.bsky.social 's patch there?
567 this year so far. Previous best was 2022 (453) - not all adults though, and not sure about the home garden lists, but this year is definitely breaking some records
Good luck. Dunno why, but I've got a song going round my head.. Rod Stewart... Something about sailing...
MdJ has never graced my trap with its presence. GbC was NFY though, along with a couple of November agg.s
Well that was a waste of the leccy... First blank since 19th February #teammoth #teamnomoths
Not seen one for a few weeks now here in TL45V
South Cambs... 2023 - 0; 2024 - 2 (NFG); 2025 - 12 so far. You getting Clancy's Rustic up there yet?
First record is 2011, but first few tentative traps not until summer 2019. Then Easter 2020 decided to "give it another go" because there wasn't a lot else to do...
Congrats. My garden list has now hit 654 after the arrival of the big blue earlier in the week. 600th species was a bit boring, but 601st was Zelleria oleastrella - also new for VC29 I think
651st species on the garden list too
I had too until certain aspects of life (and otherwise) landed me hard into can't-be-@r$3d territory
This one is Catocala fraxini, and was just outside Cambridge, UK. It has been sliding northwards rapidly and was found breeding in South Eastern Scotland last year and numerous sightings across Scotland this year too
Thanks Steve. In my excitement I forgot any hashtags
It's been a long time coming - wow, this is a huge moth! Clifden Nonpareil - 537th species of the year
Phyllocnistis asiatica (F) confirmed by dissection today from 12th June 2025 (to light) South Cambs., VC29. For more info on this relatively new to UK species see leafmines.co.uk/pdfs/newslet...

#teammoth
I wonder how long before it makes the leap across to the shores of the UK
Don't stop! Yes, fewer moths but still a roll call of moths special to the autumn and winter nights - November moth, red and yellow line Quakers, brick, lunar Underwing, black rustic, Winter moth...
My late Grandfather-in-law (who I never met unfortunately) apparently used to comment that the most useful moth identification book would be one showing them from underneath, as that's all you ever saw of them on your windows. Here's a start - Gold Triangle (62.076 Hypsopygia costalis)
I'd be ecstatic with a Brindled Green!
