My legal family name has a vowel-e pattern that is commonly written in German with an umlaut. Other folks with the same name lost the umlaut but did not gain an E (a misspelling in German). It's hard to say who made that choice!

Also it seems to me a very fine distinction between "changed at Ellis Island" and "changed when the Ellis Island person made sure that the name you have was on the ship's manifest." Some white European immigrants did in fact suddenly get a new name that way.

Nasacort works for me, but I can't really say how well it works when I have a sinus infection, since I've mostly avoided them since I discovered steroid nose sprays.
