Atsumu and Kita have been married for six years. Their lives were happy; Kita’s farm was prosperous and Atsumu’s athletic career was reaching the highest of peaks. Nothing compared to the feeling of coming home to each other.

He knelt down next to them, fondly looking at the baby who they named after Kita’s granny. Atsumu returned the sweet smile, leaning over to place a kiss on Kita’s temple.

“We have a family now.”

Anyone else would have expected Atsumu to be the one bursting into tears at the sight of their daughter.

Yet, Kita was staring with tears streaming down his cheeks and a soft smile.

Atsumu couldn’t stop beaming. The moment they put the little bundle of pink in his arms, Atsumu cradled her with such care. Her cries ceased when she touched Atsumu—

Another few hours passed until she was born. Atsumu jittered with nerves as the nurses guides them inside, speaking to Atsumu and Kita carefully. The baby needed skin to skin to form a bond between them.

Atsumu already took off his jersey and sat down.

“Atsumu, you had the bag in the trunk for the entire month and the seat has been set up since we got it,” Kita softly reassured him, “It’s going to be alright, yeah?”

“Okay… okay,” Atsumu took a deep breath in and out, then smiling gently.

Atsumu had never volunteered to drive so quickly than then, and Kita hadn’t gripped the safety handle so tightly before.

They got there in record time. Atsumu and Kita waited outside until the moment the baby was born, Atsumu nervously pacing around while chewing his nails— something he never done.

The whistle hadn’t even blown to begin the game before Atsumu ran across the court and to the exit, grinning from ear to ear.

“Where are you going?!” his bewildered coach and teammates asked him.

“I’m gonna be dad!” Atsumu hollered out, throwing his arms up in the air from sheer joy.

had his last game of the season. He had gone to the game to support his husband. Kita ran down to the court without thinking, calling out to Atsumu just on the court.

“Atsumu!” Kita cupped his hands around his mouth.

One look towards Kita’s expression was all that Atsumu needed.
