So much wrong w/this take on the superiority of Republicans’ love for America that I don’t know where to start.

“[T]he same cultural winds that propel the noble aspirations of an Abraham Lincoln, also propel the gaudy display of a Donald Trump and the occasionally recklessness of an Elon Musk.”

Cancel culture at the Alamo: “She said [Dan] Patrick demanded her resignation as head of the Alamo Trust, but he didn’t want anyone to know he was behind it. He said a handful of sentences she’d written two years earlier in… her doctoral dissertation were “troubling,” & he expected her to quit…”

At the end of the day, a mother is still without her son tonight. A scared teen is still without his mom. For no good reason. Shouldn’t that be of concern to Houston's leaders?

The history our government doesn’t want us to remember:

“And here we all were - this group of Black Americans having to deal with these bodies of White Americans. The stark reality was we had to bury those soldiers although we couldn’t sit in the same room with them when they were alive.”

Not just climate change: “Last year, a 100-foot-high tower of oily saltwater exploded from the West Texas desert like Old Faithful. Poisonous hydrogen sulfide gas billowed from the geyser in plumes so powerful that workers trying to fix the malfunctioning oil well had to evacuate multiple times.”
State regulators’ emails reveal serious dangers in battling toxic Texas geyser
A West Texas oil well blowout shot a 100-foot-high plume of poisoned water into the air last fall, prompting reforms at the Texas Railroad Commission. Are they enough?

Got a letter from Sen. Cornyn: “When we look for a solution to rising healthcare cost we should not listen to the same people who sold us Obamacare on false premises…& prefer we continue to prop up a failed system… the failing system of Obamacare.” So the GOP plan on ACA subsidies is to repeal it.
