@reckenrode.bsky.social Hey, sorry to bother you again.

I have inherited config from github.com/noghartt/nix..., because I have no idea about nvim config, but I can’t add new formatters (i.e: for Nix files), or manage plugins. Do you know an (active) community which can help me with these issues?

AFAIK because the guy who wrote the PHD thesis thought it was necessary to produce a whole new language (no other language was sufficient).

In my opinion it makes sense, because it is a completely new paradigm and developers from other langs would be used to imperative packaging paradigms.
From your config, stylua has a lot of errors on nvim 0.11.2, but critically I can’t understand how to add `nixpkgs_fmt`. GPT is saying that I need to add a custom formatter.
I am trying to get the lazy.nvim plugins to work for me - I have already removed some stuff like ‘oil’ etc, but the LSP config is so confusing to me, and I can’t really find a lot of documentation for the lazy nvim stuff.

Do you know if another plugin manager might be better suited to a newbie?
@noghartt.dev Hey Guilherme - I am currently trying to learn to configure my new MacBook via Nix-Darwin and your repository was one of the first ones I came across.

Through your provided configs, I have had my first real experience with writing in Nvim - so far it is awesome, and I want to do more
I was hoping to have specific areas of my fs have different shell compositions, i.e:

`~/Projects -> php8.1, node-latest`
`~/dev -> python, kotlin`

Therefore I made flake in ~/Projects pastebin.com/uKCCiTmM, but it thinks the dir is an input, and tries to copy to store, failing on a `.sock` file

Hey 👋, thanks for this, I have devenv already= due to dependencies with Shopware, related to my work

Today I have been experimenting with mkShell, as I would like it that I can have a set of shells for different purposes. ChatGPT says this is what nix-profiles are for, but AFAIK hm stops this
Ok, maybe I’ll be bold enough to approach devops in this way in the future

In the meantime, yesterday I looked high and low for a way to configure python within home-manager, but I couldn’t see one

Is that a job for manual modules?
When I wrote to you originally I did have specific queries, but they have all sort of dissapeared currently, will add when I fiddle a bit more with my configs. Feedback on my current repo would be much appreciated
With that in mind, I am wondering whether HM is surplus to requirements for me as likelihood of deploying over multiple machines is low. The main advantage I am seeing of Home-Manager is generated zsh configuration, but maybe there is an alternative to this within nix-darwin already? Cheers
Hey Randy,

Thanks for the responses. I think that clears up some things about home-manager for me.

Here is my repo github.com/ScottA38/nix...

I have just migrated to Apple-aarch from Framework-Intel, and I have little understanding of (or even intention to) deploy over multiple machines

@reckenrode.bsky.social Hey Randy,
I am trying to get some help with NixOs, and I came across your repository github.com/reckenrode/n...

I like the repo structure, but I am struggling to know what goes in what file (home-manager, hosts etc.).

Is here a good place to start a thread with you?
