i feel like with keyboards, we truly did kinda land on the perfect interface for computers first try. clear tactile feedback, an array of buttons that closely matches the dexterity of the human hand, the ability to map tons of functions to unique buttons and press tons of them in sequence or at once

ah yes, i would LOVE to take at least 2 seconds to perform any action, have to broadcast my every action to anyone nearby, and regularly need to redo things because it registered incorrectly or didn't interpret something the way you'd expect it to. that's a great way to daily drive a computer

i believe it was EndeavourOS, i'm referencing old Discord messages cuz it was 3 years ago. but the specific issue was that archlinux-keyring wouldn't install because a necessary key was missing from my keyring, and trying to refresh the keys kept throwing an error, so i couldn't install a bunch-

iirc, i think pacman was giving me trouble and there might've been like a circular dependency issue with some of the applications in the distro i downloaded. i just remember wrestling with the command line for ages repeatedly trying to update shit and it just wouldn't work

and i'm not tech illiterate! i've been using desktop computers for like 11 years at least, i do Blender and graphic design stuff, it's just this one thing that vexed me. even if i didn't need Adobe products, i still dunno if i could deal with setting up Linux on my main computer </3

i'll be honest. i tried setting up Linux on an old laptop a couple years ago and i genuinely gave up cuz i couldn't figure some shit out. i forget what it was exactly, maybe trying to install certain software or get certain things updated, but i was just not strong enough
