Learn charts you suck at, but not blindly. Don’t just walk up to the cab and throw yourself at it. Look at the patterns beforehand - digest what happens where. Record yourself being bad at things, analyze Where and Why you’re fucking up and how you can improve. The only way out is through

I still need to pre-study charts with any sort of turns (even 14-15) if I have a hope of not completely fucking up. It’s getting better. Upper level charts are starting to feel more readable. Don’t avoid the shit that you’re bad at, devote exclusive practice to it - or kick yourself eternally after

Not only could I not execute them, I couldn’t *read* crossovers. There are slim pickings in the 17-18 range especially where you’re not forced to turn. I’ve had to study charts and practice form on turns from the ground up for *years* now, and I’m finally just getting some semblance of competency.

Once upon a time, I could not do A Crossover, and I refused to do so. I’m talking 150 bpm LDR. Double-stepping was the only way I would play. If I couldn’t cheese it, I’d avoid it. It caught up to me fast, because as soon as 16, 17+ difficulties hit, you don’t really have the option anymore.
