Please congratulate Ciera on passing their Art Therapy Credentials Board Exam!!! Just waiting on NYS to process the paperwork and then Spotted Rabbit will have another experienced licensed LGBTQIA+ specialist.

Want to work with Ciera? Call, text or email us - we'll get back to you the same day.
Art Therapist, Sarah M, just shared a clay ocarina that she carved some personal symbols on. Do you recognize some of the symbols? Any Legend of Zelda fans out there?

Feel free to reach out if you are interested in learning more about art therapy or setting up a free consultation!

"Everyone is their own main character." This manta helps me to forget about the little slip ups I may have. I find it's easier for me to go home and embrace my awkward moments and mistakes when I know everyone else might be doing the same." - Art Therapist, Kamryn

"I discovered an account on insta: @saggysara and lately I've been watching her videos to remind myself, and share with clients, that not everything you see online is real. This is such an important thing to remember, as we all tend to compare ourselves to others, even if we know better." -Shawn

One of the best parts of working with clients at Spotted Rabbit is helping them expand on their hobbies and special interests. One of our clients recently completed a custom 2'x2' topographical map of Hyrule, cut out layer by layer with a scroll saw.

"I've always really liked malaphors: when you mix two or more common phrases into one. Common sayings have already been altered (Ex: the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb) and it can be fun to mix them up more. Here are some works in progress for malaphor card art!" -Kit
"A client recently introduced me to a song called "4 Chords" by Axis of Awesome. It came out in 2011 and it's a mashup of many popular songs that all use the same 4 chords. For the GenXrs out there: It's like finding a mix tape on the ground and you instantly love it!" -Shawn

One of our Art Therapists, Sarah M shared this quote with us. John A. Shedd was an American author and professor. His quote reminds us to not always remain stagnant, but to explore, take risks and seek new life opportunities when we can, even if that takes us a bit out of our comfort zone at times.

"Being lonely can be painful because humans are inherently social creatures who crave connection. Therapy can help you form stronger bonds with yourself and others. Therapy can help you learn to regulate negative thought patterns, and help you acquire skills for social relationships." -Brenna

Spotted Rabbit was honored to host workshops at LAI's annual Empowerment Summit last week. We were able to offer participants opportunities for creative self-expression and social connection as they colored, painted, and decorated their own giant flowers!
