I just counted the rings on the tree the arborist fell a week ago. 62 years old!
It's a shame it had to come down, but it was too close to the house and we get a lot of high winds here. 🫤
If it had come down there's a good chance it would have destroyed either my house or the neighbors.

Ugh! I woke up at 5am and my brain convinced me that time is a meaningless construct and that in a deterministic universe all events have been mapped out and that my belief in cause and effect is an epistemological failure caused by me only being able to see the current moment.

LLMs are disappointing. They will never live up to the expectations people have for them. Useful for some things perhaps, but a dead end as far as creating true self aware, self reasoning AI.

I am definitely warming up to the idea of #sortition as a form of government. Just pluck people at random from the population and force them to run the government. Maybe we'll get some new ideas for a change, and elections(selections) would be cheap and quick.

Yikes! I have a tree removal guy here taking down an enormous Ash tree, and his bucket truck is broken so he's climbing this 80ft tall tree and taking it down in stages. It's terrifying to watch but I can't look away! 😯😳
