Sometimes I still try to imagine a world where Matt Mercer didn't move from Pathfinder to D&D for Critical Role and the entire tabletop landscape would be different

The opportunity @paizo.com could make right now with Pathfinder on a channel that lives and breathes live plays feels big

Last season of Game Changer, we did a cool activation with LinkedIn in which they helped us give Jacob a prize of $100,000.

This season, I have a similar opportunity for the right brand willing to give us $50,000+ worth of their product.

Hit me up ASAP if you're interested!

Happy Columbo’s Day
Screenshot from Columbo. He his talking to his dog, which is sitting is the drivers seat of a car. “Okay, I’m gonna put you in charge. You take care of the car. You’re a responsible dog. When I get back, if the car’s okay, I’ll give you another cookie.” “If the car’s gone,” “I’ll give you another cookie anyway” “because I love you.”

This one is closer to Elden Ring wrt the horror. Aside from maybe two late game scenes.

The marriage one is so overt.

All that said, SHf is a REALLY positive step forward for the series and between that and the No Notes Perfection of SH2's remake I'm optimistic about Silent Hill for the first time since 2003.

I think you really just have to have not played the game to not understand these themes. Maybe skip the cutscenes and not read any text??

I thought I was going to be annoyed by the weapon durability stuff but I found it to be really fun and engaging.

Mechanically it has the smoothest combat of any SH game. In some scenarios it may feel like it breaks franchise conventions a little too much, but I think those moments fit with the narrative of transformation they're telling perfectly.

Dark Souls appreciators will like the higher difficulty level

Also the first SH game not to ever really have you running around at night in a city. They found wholly new ways to convey the same oppressive feeling. I love it so much!

They're definitely two totally different approaches for telling very similar emotional stories based on the internalizations of the protagonist. I really love how f took big swings that pushed really hard against the boundaries of the franchise while managing not to break theme.

For folks who are wondering about the more explicit SH series connections you won't find anything overt. But when you get to Shu's house there's a letter to read and the pond behind his house helps connect some dots and provide even more context to some events in SH1.

English voice acting feels a bit heightened, a naturalistic play might've carried the emotional weight better. Susie Yeung still did a great job conveying the duality of Hinako (and saying any more than that is spoilery, but once you understand why she's making the choices she's making it's cool
