Discovered the brilliant comedian Beverly “Pudgy” Wines yesterday. Compared to “Don Rickles” for her insult comedy. She was razor-sharp, quick and never missed a beat; I have no idea how she kept up!

Bold choices this week:
- Harmony Korine — brilliant filmmaker. Always disturbing, always real and always takes you on a journey.
- RWF’s last film. A visual feast.
- Delightful and hilarious. Every frame is a work of art.
- A crushing film.

Remembering the legendary and commanding Paul Scofield, intensely talented Oscar/Emmy/Tony-winning & Grammy-nominated actor, celebrated for his impeccable craft of Shakespearean and roles in THE TRAIN, A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, A DELICATE BALANCE, QUIZ SHOW, ANNA KARENINA, and so much more.

Delightful and hilarious! Every frame is a work of art. Alec Guinness (and his co-star teeth), Katie Johnson and Peter Sellers chew the scenery. A treat for the senses in glorious Technicolor.

Dead Man’s Wire for the win

- Michael Caine plays a ho
- RWF was very focused with this one
- What used to be a comedy has now become frightening
- Essence of 1970s response to a crisis event at a time only traditional media did the work of reporting

An absolute favorite.
My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review of THE MADNESS OF KING GEORGE boxd.it/cDL5fB

Sharp screenplay & deft performances balance biting satire of political intrigue with serious concerns of health & mental decline.

Laugh-out-loud funny & surprisingly empathetic. Gorgeously produced. Hawthorne & Mirren slay.

My theatre heart is full. I haven’t been to Broadway since 2019. Booked a flight and bought a few tickets today, including this adaptation that I’ve been dying to see 🎭

First week of 2026 happened

- Didn’t quite hit the mark - did not regret viewing
- You will get to know the personal side of RWF
- Was fun but with the cast and story it could have been so much more
- Joe Spinell is top-notch - favorite of the week

Would have been most interesting if Dame Helen and RWF hooked up to make a film or two. My most watched theme and nanogenre 😱🫠

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.
