(As well as other issues with people threading very grey areas regarding to cheating, and the difficulties involved in even catching/proofing cheating in this game, in general, given that the inputs are very binary)

(Mind you, I'm not one of the "NOOO competitive gaming ruins everything" type -- I'm actually fairly ok at competing generally. What I mean by that one, is that the way that things happened in o!taiko were very community driven, and that caused some big headaches when it came to balancing)

Playing a bit of o!taiko today reminded me that I actually really enjoy hitting the silly colored notes with a drum/keyboard, and even create maps/charts

What ruined it for me was competition, and the ins and outs of "fairness", when it came to both, fair play, and the ranking system in itself

How do you go about deciding which parts of your traditional process to apply in the digital one ?
