I’m all for conservative cost-effective solutions like housing people in homes instead of hospitals.
Dr. Piggott: "the costs to the healthcare system for people experiencing homelessness who are admitted to hospital, citing a cost of $17,000 per admission, ... can exceed the cost of housing someone elsewhere for an entire year."

Oh come on! Food banks aren't part of a real social safety net; they exist because the system is failing. A true safety net includes things like income support, disability benefits, housing, healthcare, and childcare. We need lasting solutions, not emergency stopgaps.

I keep getting skinny bellydancers on my fyp. I don't need that. I'm not in this for the love of the game. I could watch a pole dancer wearing a hazmat suit if I was in it for the Athleticism and Artistry but I'm not. I know what I'm about. Give me the fat dancers if you must give me anything at all

Good:

* Poilievre isn't Prime Minister.
* Poilevre lost his own seat.

Bad:

* Everything has shifted substantially rightward.
* 40% of popular vote and +20 seats for Cons.
* Basically a two-party parliament of centre right and far right.
* Left leaning parties wiped out.

He likes to sneak these things in when we're busy looking the other way, like legislation that would repeal Ontario’s Endangered Species Act, stomp all over municipal bylaws at will, and of course provisions to block court actions arising from these projects.
‘Special economic zones’ bill would let Ford government exempt any project from provincial laws
It also repeals Ontario’s Endangered Species Act, 'gutting' legal protections for species, environmentalists warn

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

Can we stop calling these atrocities "deportations." These people sold to El Salvadorian prisons were not deported. Deportation is a process that did not take place. They were rounded up and removed with no process. They were kidnapped, not deported.
