As Year of Lemire is coming to a close, I read one of his personal joints Mazebook. It’s another quite good effort from him with a focus on grief, loss, and ultimately acceptance. Feels very Lynchian. I am saddened that we’re near the end of Year of Lemire, but all things end.

Random Recommendation: For my money, Batman: Year One is still the best thing Frank Miller ever did. It’s his most disciplined work, with his weaknesses minimized. A great balance between machismo and hard hitting noir. Mazzucchelli’s art is absolutely sublime. A top 5 Batman story, no doubt.

A happy birthday to one Alan Moore. He is not merely an amazing comic book writer. He is one of the great imaginative forces of our time and one of the few modern writers I can say are possessed by genius. Hopefully he will stick around to give us more amazing stories.
