yeah it's strange seeing a franchise go from an inescapable cultural juggernaut to barely existent despite only a relatively small drop in actual audience
it's the weirdest thing because the prequel show does have really good watch numbers still. like it's one of the biggest shows of the last few years. but I never see anyone talk about it
always been curious about these games because they're FMA games by Square Enix and this post is the first time I've seen them referenced outside of rom lists or gamefaqs
so to return to the sons thing, MHA is the son who started an ambitious business, made a ton of money and then lost most of it, while Black Clover is the son who became like. regional manager of a decent chain restaurant.
do you remember during the beyond good & evil 2 trailer when pat was reading the messed up auto subtitles and suddenly stopped because they had n-bombs in them
the absolute nadir of this was when Dr Strange 2 featured the Darkhold, which was explained in two sentences as "an evil magic book that corrupts you" and people said you had to have watched Agents of Shield because the darkhold was in an episode of that like 7 years earlier
James Somerton had a bizarre lying take about LotR (that it was unpopular on release because it was considered "unmanly" due to being full of dudes talking about their feelings) and these posts have made me ponder what kind of insane video he would have made about FF7
for some reason this reminds me of when people said "big boss in MGSV never talks, he's almost a silent protag" and he has like as much dialogue in that game as snake has in any MGS game
I was a little confused why everyone was talking about the republicans' benefits policy and not the insane outright racism. like that phrase is not even a dog whistle, it is straight up KKK-ass slang
he says that he was making a joke by relating the guy to gay sex parties that he (gene) attended but like three people on the world would know that context and without it the post is just him cheerfully saying he's mutuals with Racist Propaganda Man
YJ is just a prime example to me because as you get further in you can hear even actors with wide ranges like Phil Lamarr and Khary Payton struggle to make each new voice not sound like an existing one. and they start using actors with distinct, inflexible voices like Jason Marsden in too many roles
