🆕News: From Nov. 25 to 27, Be the Hope Foundation, an affiliate of the Italian Buddhist Institute Soka Gakkai, held the exhibition “Senzatomica: Transforming the Human Spirit for a World Free from Nuclear Weapons” at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France. On Nov. 25, an opening ceremony was attended by President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola and Vice-President Pina Picierno. President Metsola emphasized the vital role of young people in building peace, while Vice-President Picierno referred to the importance of a policy of “no-first-use” of nuclear weapons. Over 3 days, more than 100 participants from diverse secular and religious backgrounds exchanged perspectives on promoting social cohesion and climate justice in Europe. On Nov. 12, Lucy Plummer of the SGI Office for UN Affairs spoke on a panel discussion on the hidden costs of inequality. She emphasized how youth exchanges can foster friendship and build bridges among young people divided by economic and social policies, and highlighted the positive impact that messages of hope that encourage action can have in supporting youth today. #SokaGakkai #BuddhisminAction #SokaGakkaiNews

Professor Li Exian of the School of Foreign Languages at CCNU recalled his encounter with Daisaku Ikeda and expressed his hope that younger generations would carry on Mr. Ikeda’s legacy and further Sino-Japanese relations. Representatives from both sides gave presentations on their initiatives to promote friendship between the two countries.
