I think what's happened is they've arbitrarily made the recurrence period every 3 months (13.49 x 3 = 40.49)... even though it's never been 3 months, I've always paid monthly. Doesn't explain the "plus applicable taxes" though when VAT is already included in that price LOL absolute disaster

I'd imagine it's mainly because

a) tonally it's usually a very good fit for that style (lots of bossa nova, very loopable, very chill), without needing an epidemic sound sub or whatever

b) you can probably trace back a lot of video essay culture to game review / discussion

Visual presentation is also insanely good, night and day how much better the environments look compared to the original. Kind of to be expected after 7 years of tinkering, but god it's gorgeous.

Really loving silksong so far, absolutely nails the exploration and atmosphere that made me fall in love with the first game. Difficulty is a bit all over the place (weirdly grindy as well) but there's also some fucking stunning bosses in here. Yum Yum, would recommend.
