Me, 2012: CFB conference pride is stupid, I can’t stand these ”S-E-C” chants and Ute fans with PAC-12 bumper stickers
Me, 2025: ALL HAIL THE BIG 12 🫡🥲
I’m pretty sympathetic to the AP’s reluctance to drop teams when they keep winning, but we need a better solution to these 16-18 team conferences. GT doesn‘t have Miami, UVa, or Louisville on schedule. Makes it harder to say “it’ll work itself out.”
WVU taking the “tribute to coal” game seriously
I’m a BSU fan and a blue turf defender but this is forcing me to confront some unpleasant realities
Bear Bachmeier when BYU is down two scores early
I think we might be running on empty at this point, but I’m not surprised we’re still swinging
When I was in high school, the Up in Smoke tour came to Boise and Ice Cube said to the crowd “Hello, Idaho, or as I call it, Idapimp.” It wasn’t that funny but I still think about it like once a month
This is a good pull. Inescapable at the time; I think I’ve heard it 3 times in the last 10 years and each time I deliberately sought it out

Come anywhere on my land and I'll aim at your Kibbie dome” - Ludacris if he was born on the Palouse
More than half of the SEC is ranked right now, IIRC. I’d assume top 25 matchups are going to happen more frequently when that’s the case.
Playing at the same time as Tennessee-Alabama and USC-ND certainly didn’t help.
I’d also be curious to see if the reduction of power conferences from 6 to 4, plus the G6 underperforming in rankings relative to the BCS buster era, takes some of the luster off of top 25 matchups.
The Big 12 injury report had Orange listed as doubtful, which is kind of a bummer. I wanted to see Big Citrus in action
I’ve never understood - what’s the purpose of this rule? Does it give the bowls time to adjust the tie-ins or something? A team making a bowl in Year 1 seems like something worth celebrating.
I can’t believe Mike Lee gets to ruin my post-rivalry win high. Tired of this energy permeating all facets of life.
Definitely think that booster/alumni money is a huge factor but not sure how well that correlates with endowment $. You’d have to account for big outliers (academic powers like Stanford and Northwestern, “poorer” schools like Oregon that are clearly not strapped for booster cash)
A top 10 BYU-TT matchup in November would be really good for the Big 12.
If you get all 120 stars, you can go on top of the castle and meet LeBron, but he's kind of a jerk and keeps calling you "weird"
Wow, post-Mangino Kansas is historically brutal
Yep. ASU was an unranked 5-2 at this point last year. The only team that looked above the fray early this year was TTU, and now they look just as mortal as anyone else.
Made sure SLC had at least a little Cougar representation on rivalry week
I don’t follow Sickos lore enough to precisely know why you always mention nut punches when Bronco comes up, but I‘ve watched enough Bronco-coached teams to generally know why
Posting pro-public transit content on BlueSky is a great example of knowing your audience
Still a lot of football to be played this season and still a lot of opportunity for disappointment. But it’s nice to remind myself that if I had read this 10 years ago, I would’ve dismissed it as delusional fan fiction.
