My adult life could have gone very differently. I was not set up for success. I am glad I got to where I am now, sitting in my apartment in Alaska, fully supporting myself and my pets, having experienced a bunch of incredible things that I bravely chose to pursue. #life
My coming of age was “best of luck, you’re an adult now, hope you figure it all out!”
I did, mostly, but it took a long time and so much struggle. I was so poor and depressed and unable to get it right for so long and felt stupid. It was NOT MY FAULT. #millennial #struggle
I didn’t even know how to clean a house. When I was a kid, my parents could only barely keep up with keeping our home clean. I didn’t know how to clean or manage my time to clean my home till my early 30s. It took so long to learn how to hot glue and tape my life into what it is now.
I have taught MYSELF all of this stuff. I now have navigated healthcare and advocated for myself. I haven’t overdrawn a bank account in over a decade and I have excellent credit. I am still learning communication and find it challenging to address concerns, but I’m better at it than I was.
I did not learn basic communication. I could NOT ask for help until my late 30s. I couldn’t openly discuss problems, concerns, or discomforts. I had no idea how to talk to doctors about BODY FUNCTIONS. Mental health was never discussed, everything seemed so secret. We got a vague sex talk once.
My parents taught me about money by saying “we have food at home” or “no we aren’t buying ___ today.” I had no idea why, I didn’t understand budgeting. I thought we were poor, but now I think that my dad was just very careful with money because he did grow up poor. #money #adulting #millennial
It took me a long time to learn to be an adult. I didn’t know how bills or interest or investing or retirement worked. I had no clue how to navigate healthcare and mostly didn’t have it before my 30s. I couldn’t balance a checking account and didn’t understand taxes. #life #adulting #milennial
Sometimes I’m just like “shit I’ve come a long way.”

Ahh they’re cute together!
That depends on a lot of factors, but can help. These two were both adults when they met. The cat was 12 years, dog was 1.5 years. Dog is scared of cat. Cat is king.
Dog is scared of cat 😂
They’re good boys. 💕
lol Soar’s food came today and the shipping box is bigger than the dog. 😂

Today seems to be a reasonably decent day but work *kicked my ass* this weekend so I’m gonna just be a bump on a log in my house and maybe do some cleaning or something.
Closer to tolerance than friendship, but they like each other well enough.
