I only got into theatre to get the dole off my back. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it for about ten years, but they're mostly needy as fuck and I just liked building things.

My last paycheque was from there. My boss was a wee arse who harassed me while I was off sick so I said balls to it, quit and went to college for a bit. Never went back to another theatre gig after that.

I eventually got weirded out by how shallow and insincere a great many people in theatre were and how when it came right down to it they'd skin a turd for a farthing all while talking about how egalitarian theatre was. There were some really nice, authentic folk but they were quite rare.

Yep, honestly it's better to have tried and died than not.
I was a really decent stage technician but I was always shite at lighting design. I found that out by trying and discovering a complete lack of natural talent for it.
